Who moved my cheese?!

When cheese is the very thing that makes you happy. And life changes the situation in a way that your cheese is now moved. What do YOU do?

I was in my quiet time thinking about this season we are in. Well actually not just the season, the year 2020! Let’s be real and open about it. I see this year as a big hit in the feels. Because we went from fear for the Covid-19 virus, to the anger about rascism. Then all the people we lost this year. Weither that was because of their life or friendships we lost. Maybe you lost your job or your security in your montly income. Maybe you got ill yourself and lost your health physically. Or maybe you’re about to lose your mind over these happenings this year. Whatever it might be, that thing you lost might be your metaphorical “cheese”. And losing something you love, can be very hurtful.

I was thinking about the losses I got in 2020 and I remembered a book I once read years ago. And there is also a great cartoon made about it. I placed it on my Youtube channel, so I will share it with you here below. The cartoon is about change and how we can react to it.

You have to see the video and see for yourself how you view your own life. What character do you relate to. Although this is a cartoon. It is so full of insight and wisdom to think about. I couldn’t hold it for myself. Enjoy the video:

Who moved my cheese

The writings on the wall

“What would you do if you weren’t afraid?”

“Smell the cheese often so you know when it is getting old”

Imagining myself enjoying my new cheese even before I find it. Leads me to it”

“When you stop feeling afraid, you feel good”

“When you change what you believe, you change what you do”

Have an honest and good look at what you believe. For me I believe in Jesus. The bible gives me so much wisdom, guidance, clarity. In a way only God can provide. It is also the Word of God that says:

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

1 John 4:18-20 NKJV

Reflections on change:

Change happens: They keep moving the cheese

Anticipate change: Get ready for the cheese to move

Monitor change: Smell the cheese often so you know when it is getting old

Adapt to change quickly: The quicker you let go of old cheese. The sooner you enjoy your new cheese

Enjoy change: Savor the adventure and enjoy the taste of new cheese

This video helped me to find out for myself where I stand in life. How I respond to change and the options I have to get to my cheese. I hope this will bring some light to you.
