My Top3 Biblestudy Tips
To go deeper in to God’s Word
While writing my blog post “God’s Plan”, which talks about God being the Master Planner, I included the online bible that I like to use in my bible studies.
I am a person who always likes to read the bible in the english language. Can’t give a clear reason for that either. Except that I find more content, in what God wants to tell us, in the English translation. Apart from that, the English language has more translations than the Dutch language.
But it is also one more thing that the Bible is translated from the original language. That is why you will find so many different translations for the same bible text. My personal opinion is that some translations do not reflect the depth of the text.
So to find that depth in God’s word there are multiple ways to get here. First of all, I believe we have been given the Holy Spirit to guide us through God’s word: the Bible.
1. The first thing I do is pray! May sound a bit simple of me to say that prayer is something I do to hear and understand more from God. But really, the bible says in James 4: 1-5: “But the only reason you don’t have what you want is because you don’t ask God for it”.
2. So the second thing I always do is ask the Holy Ghost for wisdom. There is a nice bible text: James 1: 5 This always reminds me that I don’t have to invent the wheel myself. Or make it difficult to understand things. I can simply ask!
3. My third tip is to use the blueletterbible.org. And the reason for this is that this online bible offers the possibility to display words and phrases with more content of the word / piece. He has synonyms again. I personally find this very useful because it allows me to see what the translated word actually means from how God has had it written down by the authors of the books in it.
Below I will show you a practical video on how to use the blueletterbible.org. I hope it will also help you in reading the Bible. However this will be in Dutch.
I will also link you to my English blogpost about God’s Plan. Which I used to study 3 bibletexts with the blueletterbible website.
